Vegetable Pot Pie at The Green Table

Aside from burgers, hot dogs, and meatballs, another classic American comfort food is chicken pot pie. Vegetarian versions of the classic pot pie are popping up in restaurants everywhere. Recently, I had a chance to sample one at The Green Table inside Chelsea Market. The vegetarian pot pie at this farm-to-table restaurant is made with organic mushrooms and vegetables and a whole wheat crust. The inside is piping hot, creamy, and earthy in flavor while the crust is thick, flaky and nutty. It is not light fare but perfect if you are craving something hearty and comforting.
