Eggs not Benedict

Sometimes in Asia you just crave a good American style breakfast  (or if you’re like me, it’s anytime and anywhere). There are a plethora of Western style restaurants in HK and The Flying Pan is one. Only having been in HK for two months, I’ve heard my fair share about the raves that go out to The Flying Pan; it was time for a try.

Check out the extensive breakfast selection on their website! As you can see, there are a number of veggie options, including the breakfast burritos. I decided on one of the House Specialties, a vegetarian style Eggs Benedict (of which there’s more than one!) The Eggs Sardou has tomato, spinach, and artichoke in place of the typical ham or bacon. Many of the breakfast options also come with juice and two sides. Although the roasted tomatoes look great, it just doesn’t compare to London’s own. Back to the eggs; you won’t be disappointed. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and rich, and the egg was perfectly runny–exactly the way I like my poached  eggs. And the mix of textures and flavors of the veggies was a nice balance. Give it a try for yourself! Or get some inspiration for a creative way to make eggs Benedict of your own!
