Dining Out for Christmas

It’s getting down to the wire. If you still don’t have plans for a Christmas meal, then don’t fret. Many restaurants are open on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas day and are serving up special menus in celebration. Opentable has a huge listing in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago of which restaurants are open and what these places are serving. According to the website, Vermillion in Chicago and New York has a special vegetarian menu. Also in NYC, Gobo is open and serving a la carte specials as is Kajitsu, which will be offering a nine-course dinner on Christmas Day. Josephina will also have baklava baked Brie, a choice of roasted beet or champagne vinaigrette salad and a butternut squash mascarpone risotto.

Winter Nog at Black Market (via the Gothamist)

Dining Out for Christmas in New York:
The Gothamist lists 14 places to dine out during Christmas. The list includes Black Market for which the folks at the Gothamist recommend the “hearty, decadent veggie burger” and winter nog. Riverview will offer a pre-fixe menu with vegetarian risotto as the entrée. New York Magazine lists on its site a few more restaurants that will be open during the 24th and 25th.

Dining Out for Christmas in Boston:
According to BostonChefs, Clink will have a special take on their corn pasta serving it with sage butter and pine nuts for both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. The Upstairs also has some pretty good options on their pre-fixe if you’re willing to skip the amuse bouche (or hope for the best). The vegetarian starter is peppered goat cheese salad with baby beet vinaigrette and pistachio oil while the entrée is potato gnocchi with shallots, chestnuts, Parmesan and plumped sultanas. Top of the Hub is offering a four-course vegetarian pre-fixe meal for Christmas Eve featuring: potato gnocchi, roasted butternut squash soup, grilled vegetable napoleon, arugula salad and cherry gingerbread yule log.
